A Slice of New York: Reviews & Ratings
I love thin crust New York style pizza! They also offer thick crust with plenty of garlic sauce around the edges, which I have tried thanks to my niece. They also have Calzones and garlic knots, all very good. (Side story), I once met Cain Velasquez, the UFC fighter here too. This place is dear and near to me. I love the variety as well, one of my favorites is the Margherita and the Pepperoni with Jalapeño.
Yeah, I'd come back for the White Pie or the Wall Street! Their crust is quite tasty, but the toppings are definitely where this place shines. High quality ingredients, and they don't skimp on the portions too! Perfect to share. Minimal seating at the shop, so expect to possibly eat the pie elsewhere. You can order and wait 15 or so minutes, but I'd recommend calling ahead. Solid pizza shop in SJ!
Truly loved every moment here. The place feels like a slice of NYC at heart, from the crew’s warm energy to the amazing food. Pizza slices are rich in flavor, and the garlic knots are outstanding. A perfect spot for anyone missing real New York taste on the West Coast.
Great pizza place. My boyfriend has been coming here for many years, and he recently introduced me about a year ago. The staff are always friendly and kind, and the pizza is spectacular! The prices are also very appropriate, and I love the atmosphere. Highly recommend this place to everyone!
This is a pick-up pizza place, they have a few tables out front for a quick slice. Parking is minimal but the pizza slices are huge. The canolis are bite size so I recommend a 6 pack. We ordered the Rockefeller Center (All Meat) pizza, garlic knots, canolis and a Tiramisu. Our order was ready in 15 min and that was with a crowd of people. This made our "Pizza Friday" awesome. They have sodas in a cooler and no alcohol. We are coming back again next Friday.
Had the Wall Street (the pepperoni and some other stuff) and the white pie. The white pie (garlic oil and ricotta) was underwhelming, but the Wall Street was amazing. Not sure what was in it, obviously pepperoni and maybe pancetta with honey? It had a sweet taste to it despite the salty ingredients. I felt like I wanted to eat more with each bite. Also got a cannoli on the house and that was really good. Crunchy on the outside and sweet and creamy on the subside. The service was outstanding, I thought NY people were supposed to be rude and uncaring, but this is anything but that! Bar stool seating inside (maybe 5-6), but they had 2 outdoor tables with benches right outside as well. This place has been around since 2006, can’t believe it’s my first time here. What a gem! Felt like I was in high school looking at all the drawings on paper plates and autographs of random people. Enjoyed the diversity, creativity and flexibility of the staff (I heard multiple times customers ask for a combo or some other pizza and the staff would add ingredients to a slice to fill the gap), and co-op vibes.
Quick service, delicious tiramisu cup, but pizza not as good as pizza in New York. After being disappointed by every normal pizza place in San Francisco, I made the journey out here to just try a slice (price varies), because the SF Chronicle had it on a list. The crust wasn't strong enough to be held only by the edge. Still, the ratio of toppings was good and the slice tasted good. I noticed that I didn't taste the garlic in their sauce for some bites, so maybe they could use more or use finer pieces of it. I also had a tiramisu cup ($7) and ate the whole thing without taking a break. It was phenomenal. There wasn't much seating inside but there were three bench tables outside. I sat outside for a few seconds before the 49°F air made me want to rush back in.
Good pizza, also got garlic knots which were good (like cinnamon rolls but garlic, you can unroll them). Parking is non-existent, I parked "creatively" since I was just picking up for takeout. I can't attest to the atmosphere too much beyond the time I spent waiting to ask for my food, most of which was spent waiting for a line of foreigners who spoke no English to shove phones in the manager's face so they could pick up orders lol. Seemed like a legit place though, will come here again.
